Girls’ Night Out (GNO) is for any woman that wants to expand her circle of friends. This is a fun social setting, great for meeting new people and a chance to get together with friends, coworkers, and clients.
A variety of women attend these events! Women new to the area, women looking for a new career, women starting a new career, women who love to be social, women just starting a business, women in all levels and types of business, and stay at home moms.
If you would be interested in being a GNO Ambassador and helping me set up and organize events as well as greet ladies as they arrive at the event, please let me know!
These gatherings are perfect opportunities to expand your circle of friends and enjoy the company of great women.
GNO: Where to go for fun, friendship, and networking!
A Letter from the Founder
In 2004 Girls’ Night Out Madison began. I had no idea that almost 12 years later GNO would become such a vital part of my life and the beginning of so many new friendships.
I know I have been blessed to meet such smart, witty, wonderful women who are making their mark in the world. Put them in a room together and they are a force to be reckoned with…and they are also a lot of fun!
When I first moved to Madison in the early 1990s I knew no one and had longed to find some friends that I could do girl things with. My dream of meeting such amazing women came to a reality when I went to work for Wisconsin Woman magazine in 1998. Because of my long history in outside sales in the Madison area and the many opportunities I have had to meet amazing women through my 10 year role at Wisconsin Woman magazine, I now have quite a few connections in Madison. I thank God for the many friends and contacts I have gained.
I often think back to the time I was that girl in my lonely Madison apartment wishing I had a girl friend to do things with. I have met a number of women that are new to Madison that are looking for that new best girlfriend to hang out with, share the good and the bad moments with and experience one of the best places on earth, Madison, WI. I also discovered that so many women are looking for the perfect opportunity to get away from their daily routines, enjoy themselves, and meet other great women. I continually meet women who are eager to network with other professional women, and maybe even make new friends.
The interest in the first event was phenomenal and the monthly events have grown considerably since then. Today over 1,900 women are on my mailing list and each event typically attracts an average of about 50 or more women. The monthly GNO events were not intended to be business events, however GNO has expanded to offer occasional additional events that may have a business networking focus.
No RSVPs are necessary. I typically hold the Girls’ Night Out at locally-owned venues where there isn’t a cover charge or registration fee; however all events are BYOW (bring your own wallet!).
Maybe you are new to the area, have just switched careers, are newly divorced, or facing another big transition in your life and could really use a friend. I welcome you to join us at an upcoming Girls’ Night Out event. Remember, you can never have too many friends!

Code of Ethics
These events are for fun only…this is a social gathering, not an opportunity to sell your products or to try to do business unless specifically noted as a business event. Please be considerate and aware that most women are there to meet friends not to be sold to. When you meet ladies at these events I suggest leaving your sales pitches at the door and be the most welcoming sincere friendly person that you can be. Expanding your circle of friends is what GNO was intended for. You will win gain more friends and the respect of others.
Please go out of your way to thank and generously tip your waitstaff. The host businesses where we have our events have been very kind to let us use their facilities. Please be respectful.
There are some small expenses associated with hosting a Girls’ Night Out event. If you feel so obliged, there is always a piggy bank near the name tags, and we appreciate any contributions to help make each event as fun as possible.
